To seek new worlds and new civilizations... The humains build their first stellar ships and go trekking the neighborhood stars. Vuclains, worrying about the fact humains may not be ready to go to the stars, try to control them assiging their owns in humain ships. This are the adventures of the starship Enterprise, launched to seek new worlds and new civilizations beyond the final frontier, and to build new relations with other races that trek in the stars. |

| Design |
Buttons, switches and state of the art specials effects No optical panels. Buttons and switches are the standard in the Enterprise. Teleportation exists, but not the tractor beams, nor universal translators. Phasers look like pistols and communicators do already have this flip open style we used to see in all previous Star Trek series. |

Roxann Dawson to direct Episode 7 Roxann Dawson has announced she was directing the episode 7 of Enterprise, and that she loved the ideas of the new series. |

Briefly (more details in the update next tuesday) Cast is official. Scott Bakula (Captain Jonathan Archer, human male), Jolene Blalock (1st officer, vulcan female T'Pol), John Billingsley (doctor Phlox, alien), Linda Park (enseign Hoshi Sato, comm, human female), Anthony Montgomery (lieutenant Joe Mayweather, navigator, human), Dominic Keating (commander Malcomm Reed, weapons, human), Connor Trinneer (commander Charlie 'spike' tucker, engineer, human). Photos follow next week... The title of the pilot is 'Broken Bow'and deals with the first contact with the klingons. Navy blue jumpsuit uniforms with black mock-turtlenecks underneath and colored piping along the shoulders and yoke. The uniforms also feature shoulder patches with the ship's insignia. The ship should look like the original Enterprise. Shooting of the Pilot began today, May 14th, in still building sets and is schedulled to finish on June 19th. |

Serie V: Episode 1, plot Here is a summary of the pilot, as seen by a trektoday source ( news of the 21 April 2001) on an almost final draft of the script manuscript: The story occurs 5 to 10 years before the birth of the federation, around the year 2150. Humains and Vulcans have strained relationship, the last ones worrying that Humans may not be ready to go to the stars. T'Pau is assigned to the Enterprise ship as sub-commander, but also to keep an eye on the Humans. The premiere starts off with the Enterprise at Spacedock, preparing to go out into space. While this is happening, a Klingon crash-lands on Earth, after being chased by two members of the Suliban, a new alien race to be featured in the series. The Klingon is critically injured by a human soon after the crash. Another conflict erupts between the humans and the Vulcans, as the humans insist on returning the Klingon to his homeworld. The Vulcans, on the other hand, are afraid that the Klingon government would view this as a disgrace, getting the relation off on a very bad foot. However, the humans triumph in the end, and the Enterprise, under the command of Captain Jackson Archer, makes its way to Qo'noS, in order to return the injured Klingon. |

Junior Illustrator: Doug Drexler Doug Drexler has returned to the Paramount lot to work on Star Trek again full-time. He has joined the fifth series of the franchise as Junior Illustrator, working in the Art Department to develop the visual look of the new show, including computer displays, logos and alien languages. Drexler has been working at visual effects house Foundation Imaging since 1999 when production ended on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, where he was also part of the Scenic Art Department. He had moved over to DS9 in a significant career change - he previously was a makeup artist on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and prior to that did special makeup effects on several movies. In fact, Drexler won an Academy Award for his makeup work on "Dick Tracy" in 1991. Drexler co-authored the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual" and also designed illustrations and diagrams for "The Star Trek Encyclopedia." He also served as Scenic Artist on the last three Star Trek movies, and did some visual effects work on Star Trek: Voyager.

Series V : The construction of the Federation. Show simply called 'Enterprise' Rumors given by a reliable source (who gave the name of one of the last key episode Friendship One in the 7th season of Voyager) to the greatlink website managers : The concept is based around after the events of First Contact. The Vulcans and Humans are working together to establish a Federation. It takes place before the 100 war with the Romulans. The human characters are not as clean cut, so they will be a lot more darker than usual. The Captain is Jackson Archer, and Scott Bakula has the part. The new Seven of Nine, the Vulcan first officer, is T'Pau. She is to be recast because of elimination of previous candidates. Marjorie Monaghan is no more running for the role. Remember, she was the leqder of the Martian resistance in Babylon 5 season 4. An English guy has the role of the Spike Tucker, the Engineer. The Doctor has been cast. In fact he was the quickest one done. There is another young Vulcan who is the assistant to the Vulcan ambassador, he is still not cast as of yet. All the Voyager sets are being replaced as we speak. Production starts on the 8th May and they have to finish episodes 1 -3 by 1st July. The ship is called the SS Enterprise and the show is just called Enterprise. The gagdets are Captain Proton esque, basically switches and buttons rather than panals. |

One of the most important changes to this pre-Starfleet Enterprise is that it will lack the distinctive two warp nacelles that have characterised most Federation ships.' |

Two production artists seasoned in the look of the future have begun work on the next incarnation of the Star Trek franchise. Herman Zimmerman has the title of Production Designer/Illustrator on the as-yet-unnamed new series, while John Eaves is the Senior Illustrator. Zimmerman, a 30-year veteran of Hollywood, has been part of the Star Trek world since the beginning of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was also Production Designer on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as well as the last five Star Trek movies. Eaves was Senior Illustrator on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and also worked on the last three movies. Zimmerman and Eaves together designed the Sovereign-class Enterprise-E seen in 'Star Trek: First Contact' and 'Star Trek: Insurrection'. |

Viacom, parent of UPN and Paramount, told a group of investment analysts that it would indeed premiere a new Star Trek series in the fall, according to a report by On24 media reporter Rick Ellis. Ellis said that Viacom executives were vague about the premise of the series, which would be the fifth Trek show since the original Star Trek aired on NBC in 1966. Rumors have suggested that the new series, being developed by Star Trek: Voyager executive producers Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, will center on the early days of the Federation, in the days before the original series. Berman has denied those rumors. Voyager is winding up its seven-year run this season. It's likely that the new Trek series could face delays, like all fall television shows, if writers' and actors' unions go on strike this spring.
