The Enterprise has a First Contact with the Vissians, a slightly more advanced species possessing the photon torpedo technology, whose reproductive beings, very few and of a third androgyn gender, are considered as inferior beings and maintained in a depp ignorance state (they even haven't got a name). Trip, ignoring this cultural behavior, educates a so-called cogenitor which appears to be very smart. The Cogenitor asks for asylum but eventually decides to return to his planet. But soon, Trip, discovers that the being has commited suicide.

Repentence (Voy, s7). B. Wahlstrom is new to Startrek, but has been seen in charmed.
